Why do women close their eyes when they makeup their eyelash?

Its because when your putting on your eye makeup you try to open your eyes wide. To do this you use your facial muscles to pull the skin around your eyes tight.

This is done partly by some muscles that are also involved with opening your mouth. Also this shrinks the nasal opening giving your self slightly less air flow, not nearly enough to put you in trouble but enough to encourage your body to subconsciously use the rest of your muscles to open your mouth.

Another reason is you need to concentrate on what your doing so you don't poke out your eye or close it up. Your brain sends the ';open the eyes message'; and concentrates hard on that. With a few misfires of that message you also open your mouth.

Too much concentration and your control over less important things becomes less.

Or you can use my amusing answer that it's just natural to have your jaw drop when you are starring at a beautiful girl. Why do women close their eyes when they makeup their eyelash?
I don't close my eyes. You lower your lids slightly to make it easier to put the mascara on (without it getting on your eyelid). Closing your eyes would make it next to impossible to put mascara on.Why do women close their eyes when they makeup their eyelash?
Most dont to be fair... the most random thing people (and i say people as this can sometimes include men as well) do is try and put makup on with their mouths open. Looks daft, very random, wouldnt't think it helps but its a stupid instinct that opening your mouth tightens the skin under your eyes and makes the makeup easier to apply...

Dont know if thats any use to you! ^_^
