I usually wear black eyeliner on top and bottom but lately for some reason it looks too dark. I can't survive without eyeliner, and I never know what eyeshadow to use.... every time I use dark shadow it makes me look too gothic. And light eyeshadows blend in. BLAHHHH!
p.s.
i dont like buying extremely expensive makeupI have big brown eyes and olive skin.... MAKEUP HELP?

This woman on youtube does something very interesting with her eyes.
She is spanish, but she shows you clealry what to do so its not so important to know what she says.
She uses eyeliner, but in a delicate way. She also opens up the eyes with white eyeliner etc.I have big brown eyes and olive skin.... MAKEUP HELP?
maybe if you put a picture up it could help that way i can see your skin tone in a picture. but, you dont always have to use eyeshadow. sometimes i like not using eyeshadow and just using eyeliner and mascara.
personally, if you wanna use eyeshadow, id say go for a shade darker then your skintone. if not, pass on the eyeshadow and only wear it sometimes.
for eyeliner i really like almay intense i-color which is like 7 dollars at the drugstore. i use it for my bottom waterline and lower lash line. you might wanna try that, that way its less dramatic without the top line.
i really like covergirl lash blast, it gives really great volume for a drugstore mascara.
i don't give very good makeup advice on my own, but i can say that you should watch ';What Not to Wear';. it's on The Learning Channel (TLC). if you haven't seen it, it's about how they take somebody who has no sense of style and teach them how to shop and dress, and give them a complete makeover. near the end of the show, the makeup stylist (whatever she's called) tells the person what they're doing wrong with their makeup (if they wear any) and show them how to use it, what kind to try, etc.
this isn't exactly brilliant, advice, but maybe it will help some.
Green and gold eyeshadow looks really nice on brown eyes and olive skin.
So does plums and other deep purple colours. Sometimes I find that when I use the same eyeliner for a while, it looks darker than usual, Have you tried using a white eyeliner?. White eyeliners brighten up your eyes, I blend it in on the inner corner of my eyes with my black eyeliner. It prevents the black eyeliner looking too flat and stark.
I don't use liquid black eyeliner because to me it looks to strong, but
im fair so it would, I prefer pencil because you can press as hard as you want.
You don't have to stick to just black eyeliner, you could use a purple one instead, it tends to look less harsh but you have to pay more attention to what colours you use so it won't clash.
This is a nice example of a green and gold eyeshadow look:

Well, Either wear your eyeliner on the top OR bottom, not both it makes you look like you have no eyes. You should wear mascara too, it makes your eyes pop.
Hope I helped (:
